Start with the field type, playing level, and proper youth sizing to pick the correct category. In this listing, the item appears under the Boys' category with generic branding, so you may want Nike-branded options if you specifically seek the Nike label. Also confirm that the size 12 youth option matches your child’s foot length, width, and growth needs.

The stud pattern and outsole configuration are the most complex attributes because they directly influence traction and stability. On grass, firm-ground soles with longer studs grip better; on artificial turf or indoor surfaces, multi-ground or turf patterns behave differently. For youth players, choosing the right pattern helps prevent slips and supports safer turns and stops.

A beginner should prioritize comfort and an easy-to-fit design, while a more skilled player looks for lockdown and the right stud setup for precision. In practice, beginners benefit from forgiving uppers and simple closures, whereas experienced players may prefer lighter weight and targeted traction for better ball control on the field.

Routinely clean after use, inspect studs for wear, and replace damaged closure parts if possible. Ensure laces or alternative closures remain intact, and air-dry the shoes away from direct heat. Verify the size 12 youth fit with the socks used during play to maintain consistent comfort across sessions.

Check for adequate toe room, secure heel lockdown, and overall comfort when tried with the child’s usual playing socks. If buying online, review the seller’s return or exchange policy to ensure a safe option if the fit isn’t right.
