Product details

Authors have in the past presented opinion literatures on Labour and Trade Union Movement in Nigeria, and will continue to do so even in other countries. So far such efforts have in many instances been captured in breach of the realities. In a clear attempt to strike the delicate political balance in the old cold war between the defunct East and. Vestern blocks, some authors have not really addressed the structural and statutory issues constituting the kernel of the Labour Movement in our part of the globe.
I concede that for the first time in the record of literatures, an author has set out to address the structural and statutory functions of the many regulatory agencies with strong historical backing, and delving in the process into the voyage of the divine and economic origins of Labour and Trade Union Movements.
The Nigeria Labour Movement is one piece of modern literature on the subject, I have found most fascinating, inviting, with compelling deep revelations on the Labour Movement.
Assessed from the perspective of historical relevance and statistical accuracy, it is superb. And from the philosophy and concept of trade unionism, it is most revealing and irresistible. In simple and very understanding language the author has by his work brought to the fore, and for the benefit of humanity and the global labour family facts and information that had escaped the prying eyes and research lenses of most labour and industrial relations researchers and scholars.
In 22 chapters, the author among other commendable entries professionally set an academic tone of distinction between Labour leaders and trade Unionists. The book notes the concept which revealed the Unionist as an undertaker. That the trade union was founded by an employer, and by the rule of industrial democracy became workers protective shield is among the strong facts of trade union history which the author has distilled in this package.
I have read The Nigeria Labour Movement, and have no reservations in my views that it is a publication expertly written, and commended to students of industrial relations and labour economics at all levels. It is a must-companion to labour and industrial relations scholars, practitioners, and all who'earnestly desire Nigeria Labour Movement history as never before.
It is worth a better time and attention, a strong contribution to knowledge and development.
Read and be happy you did
