Great book for teenagers and young adults
I wish i read something like this when i was 12. Its encouraging to read the stories of women who rose from nothing, and went through the challenges we are still going through. The summary is just that any one can succeed. Great book.  Read more  Hide

The HERSTORY volumes capture the positive changes that have been and are still going on in women’s development in Africa in general. They offer numerous lessons and inspiration to every African child, young boys and girls, adult women and men, teachers and students, business people, politicians, administrators, social entrepreneurs and leaders in various sectors of the society.

Simply put, the book is a compendium of the stories of leading women in various fields, presented in a lucid and reader-friendly autobiographical prose. Volume four (4) particularly has captured the lives of 20 women, born at different historical times and societies, with different backgrounds and challenges, who rise through it all, to the top of their respective ladders. The stories of these women have been captured in their own words.

Doyin Abiola, Akua Sena Dansua, Mayen Adetiba, Bennedikter Molokwu,  Carlene Alaja-Browne, Oyinade Elebute, Christy Essien Igbokwe, Gladys Ashitey,  Opral Benson, Adetutu Adeleke, Aisha Mohammed-Oyebode, Aminata Ndiaye,  Bashirat Odunewu,  Debbie Ogunjobi,  Olusola Obada,  Bola Atta,  Olufunke Osibodu,  Pamela Adedayo, and Tinuade Oyekunle.

This is the kind of biographical compilation that should be found on bookshelves and reading tables in every home, school, offices, personal and public libraries; because they are real life stories that can truly influence, inspire and change many lives, as well as critically improve the conditions of gender relations in the society
