Product details
Striker herbicide is a selective, systemic, post-emergence herbicide used to control weeds in maize crops. It is formulated as an oil dispersion (OD) and contains the active ingredient Nicosulfuron, a sulfonylurea herbicide. Striker is effective against a broad spectrum of weeds, including annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds. Features and Benefits:
- Selective: Striker is designed to kill weeds while leaving the maize crop unharmed.
- Systemic: The herbicide is absorbed by the plant and moves through its system, reaching and killing the roots.
- Post-emergence: It is applied after the maize and weeds have emerged from the soil.
- Broad-spectrum: Striker controls a wide range of weed species.
- Rainfast: Its selective activity provides some resistance to wash-off by rain.
Target Weeds:
Striker is effective against various weeds, including:
- Annual grasses: Barnyardgrass, green foxtail, jungle rice, wild oats, etc.
- Broadleaf weeds: Gallant soldier, common chickweed, pale persicaria, pigweeds, etc.
- Perennial grasses: Sorghum halepense and Agropyron repens
Application:
- Striker is typically applied at the 3-4 leaf stage of the maize and when weeds are actively growing.
- The specific application rate will vary depending on the weed pressure and the size of the weeds.
Important Considerations:
- Safety: Always follow the label instructions for proper application and handling.
- Environmental: Striker is considered safe for the environment when used as directed.
- Integration: It can be incorporated into Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs
- toxicity to fish in aquatic environments
