Blueberry

English name: Blueberry, meaning blue berries, belongs to the family of arbutusaceae, specifically the genus Vaccinium.Originated fromNorth AmericaPerennialShrubSmall berry fruit tree.Because the fruit turns blue, it is calledBlueberry。

One type is a low shrub, short-statured wild blueberry with small particles but high anthocyanin content; the second type is an artificially cultivated blueberry that can grow up to 240cm tall, has larger fruits with more moisture and relatively low anthocyanin content.There are over 400 species of the Vaccinium genus distributed worldwide, with the original and main species being native to the United States, also known as American blueberries.

Blueberries contain rich nutrients, which have functions such as preventing brain aging, strengthening the heart, fighting cancer, softening blood vessels, and enhancing human immunity.

Among them, blueberries are particularly notable for being rich in anthocyanins, which have the effect of activating the retina, enhancing vision, and preventing eye fatigue.It is also one of the five recommended healthy fruits by the World Food Organization.

 


For planting blueberries, choose clay pots.Clay pots have strong breathability and are cheap, but the downside is that the black-gray color isn't very aesthetically pleasing.If you can't find a clay pot, you can choose a ceramic pot, followed by a purple sand pot or plastic pot. Do not use glazed porcelain pots.As for the size of the pot, for 2-3 year old seedlings, choose a pot with a diameter of 25 to 30cm mm. Avoid large pots for small seedlings.Wait until it grows bigger before changing to a larger pot.4-5 year old mature plants, of course, the bigger the better.

Blueberries can only grow healthily in an acidic environment; a pH value between 4 and 5 in the cultivation soil is suitable for blueberry growth.This issue has been troubling many blueberry enthusiasts because the pH value of garden soil is generally between 6 and 7. Even acidic soil sold at flower and bird markets has a minimum pH value between 5.5 and 6.

Blueberries require cold storage capacity.The so-called cold storage capacity means that blueberries generally need X hours to reach normal flowering and fruiting
