Yamaha HS5 Powered Studio Monitor (Pair)

The Yamaha HS5 is a 2-way active bi-amplified studio monitor designed for accurate, flat sound reproduction in nearfield mixing and production environments.

Key Features

Driver Configuration:

5-inch cone woofer for low/mid frequencies.

1-inch dome tweeter with a specialized waveguide to extend high-frequency response up to 30 kHz.

Bi-Amplified Power System:

Total output of 70W (45W LF + 25W HF) to ensure low distortion and high headroom.

Frequency Range:

54 Hz – 30 kHz (-10 dB) / 74 Hz – 24 kHz (-3 dB).

Acoustic & Room Tuning Controls:

ROOM CONTROL: Attenuates unnatural low-end build-up when monitors are placed near walls (0, −2 dB, or −4 dB below 500 Hz).

HIGH TRIM: Adjusts high-frequency response (+2 dB, 0, or −2 dB above 2 kHz) to adapt to room acoustics.

Low-Resonance Enclosure:

Constructed from dense, damped MDF using traditional three-way mitered-joint technology to eliminate unwanted resonance and improve cabinet durability.

Noise Reduction Port Design:

Rear-ported bass-reflex design featuring advanced air-flow analysis to control vortices, reducing port noise by up to 6 dB.

Flexible Input Connectivity:

Includes both XLR and 1/4" TRS phone jack inputs to accept balanced and unbalanced sources (audio interfaces, mixers, controllers). 1
