Volvo Belt Tensioner 21631484, 15187600

This is a Belt Tensioner Assembly designed for heavy-duty engines, commonly used in Volvo trucks and construction equipment.

This tensioner is a critical component of the engine's accessory drive system. It applies constant, spring-loaded pressure to the serpentine belt, ensuring it maintains the correct tension to drive engine-mounted accessories such as the alternator, water pump, and A/C compressor.

By maintaining consistent tension, it prevents belt slippage, which can lead to overheating (if the water pump slows down), electrical failure (if the alternator output drops), and excessive vibration that could damage accessory bearings.
