Opening up the box reveals a  tough clamshell packaging that protects the StoreJet 25C3N. It’s a little excessive in my opinion – but just goes to show how much Transcend really cares about their product.

DESIGN

Now, the Transcend StoreJet 25C3N is aimed towards sleekness. It looks classy, feels fantastic in the hands, and according to Transcend, it is built with an aluminium alloy housing, With its durability in check, let’s talk about its aesthetics. I have to say, Transcend did a really good job in the overall design of the StoreJet 25C3N. The aluminium alloy housing is polished, sandblasted, and anodized to give it that matte grey look. At a glance, it almost looks like a the StoreJet 25C3N is wrapped with a shiny vinyl skin instead.

With a metal housing, one might think that the edges might be sharp. But of course Transcend already took care of it, as all of the edges on the StoreJet 25C3N are chamfered. I mean seriously – it’s chamfered all around. As for its size, the 2TB variant of the StoreJet 25C3N only weighs in at 130 grams  (158 grams with the cable) and has a tiny size 114.5mm x 78.5mm x 9.95mm. Not that much bigger than a barebones 2.5-inch internal hard disk, actually.

Performance & Features

Ah, this is the most important factor when it comes to an external hard disk. It’s quite surprising that the Transcend StoreJet 25C3N actually performs slightly better compared to other larger and bulkier external hard disks!

StoreJet 25C3N is a tiny, slim, yet beautiful-looking piece of fashion accessory-come-external storage device. It’s tiny, it does what it is supposed to do very well , and has a lot of free utility – but everything comes at a price.
