How to use toogood saffron threads? Saffron needs moisture to be activated to release its color, flavor, and aroma. You can either sprinkle the saffron threads into the water-based food like soup or prepare a saffron water blend. For a quick saffron solution add the desired amount to a cup of warm water and wait for 5-10 mins for the saffron to activate. Another way that some chefs prefer is to crush the thread add a little sugar, and an ice cube and let it diffuse for a long time like 30 mins.
