Product Type: DC Photovoltaic (PV) Fuse Holder (2-Pole)
Brand: TOMZN
Model: TOPV-32 and TOPV-32X (The unit shown is a 2-pole configuration combining these two).
Primary Application: Solar PV String Protection. It is used to hold fuse links that protect solar panels and inverters from overcurrent/short circuits on the DC side.
Technical Specifications
1. Modular Design (2-Pole):
The images show a 2-pole unit. In a typical solar setup, this is used to break and protect both the Positive (+) and Negative (-) wires coming from a string of solar panels.
2. LED Indicator (Model TOPV-32X):
One of the poles (labeled TOPV-32X) typically features a red LED indicator.
Function: When the fuse inside blows (melts due to a fault), the light turns on to visually alert you which fuse needs replacing.
The standard TOPV-32 (right side) usually does not have this indicator, though in this specific combined unit, they function similarly as holders.
3. Finger-Safe Enclosure:
The unit is IP20 rated (visible on the side label), meaning it is touch-safe and protects users from accidental contact with live parts when the fuse carrier is closed.
4. 10x38mm Form Factor:
This is the industry-standard size for string-level solar fuses. The holder swings open (pull down on the lever) to allow you to insert or replace the cylindrical fuse link.
Important Safety Warnings
"DO NOT OPEN UNDER LOAD": This is printed clearly on the front and side. This device is not a switch disconnector intended to break the current while the solar panels are generating high power.
Instruction: You must isolate the circuit (turn off the main DC isolator/switch) before pulling these fuse holders open. Opening them while current is flowing can cause a dangerous DC arc flash.
Fuses Not Always Included: Typically, these "Holders" are sold separately from the actual "Fuse Links" (the little cylinder that goes inside). You usually need to buy 10x38mm gPV fuses rated for your specific amperage (e.g., 10A, 15A, 20A) separately.
