999 The Nines, also known as “Herba Devynia,” is a traditional herbal liqueur produced by Stumbras, the largest alcoholic beverage company in Lithuania. Every grocery shop in Lithuania sells it, and it is readily available in both Latvia and Lithuania. The number 999 refers to the variety of herbs and spices present. There are nine distinct flower and herb varieties, nine fruits, and nine roots in all. There are at least anis, vanilla, cinnamon, lemon and orange peel, clove, raisins, and coffee beans in the whole recipe, which is undoubtedly a secret. After maceration and blending, it is aged on barrel for a short period of time to give the various flavors a chance to blend together.
