Catnip Spray contains catnip and valerian root containing nepetalactone, an active organic compound which causes behavioral change in cats. Cats inhale the aromatic oils of catnip and valerian root, where they come into contact with special receptors in the cat’s nose. Cats more than 10 months old seem to be more sensitive to the aroma of catnip than kittens or older cats.
