The need to provide the first time visitor to Nigeria with detailed information about the country, its people and its vast resources motivated the author of this book. The book is specially prepared to give the first time visitor to Nigeria a ready tool to enable him travel through the country with little or no assistance.The book also addresses the needs of domestic tourists. Domestic tourism at this stage of Nigeria's development is very important because it is the activities and resources generated by Nigerians traveling from one part of the country to another that will build capacity for operators in the travel and hospitality sectors and by extension create better enabling environment for international tourists.This book therefore is also meant to provide valuable information on local airlines, bus, coach and other land transportation as well as hotels and other hospitality and tourist facilities all around the country.The author realizes that no single work could chronicle all that the traveler needs to know his way through the country and as such do not claim to be the sole authority on this issue. Many other books may have been written and will be written after this work. However this is just to give some direction to the traveler and to make traveling within Nigeria easier.
