She graduated from Government Medical College, Kozhikode, Kerala, India in the year 1988 and did her Masters in Anatomy from the same institution. Students of this institution have selected her as the "Best Teacher in Anatomy". She is the author of Textbook of Anatomy for Nurses and Textbook of Anatomy and Physiology for GNM Students. She has keen interest in Medical Genetics and has undergone training in Genetics from AIlMS, New Delhi; CCMB, Hyderabad and CMC, Vellore. She has published several research papers in international journals.
