First Mental Arithmetic 4 is aimed at pupils in Year 2 and includes 30 single-page sessions covering the key subject areas of number, measurement, geometry and statistics, including multiplication, division, partitioning, fractions, number sequences, lists, tables and reading scales. Regular Check-up Tests and Just Facts questions identify gaps in understanding, while a Language of Maths glossary at the start of each book helps develop children’s number vocabulary. Each book also contains three Achievement Charts to enable children to monitor their own progress.
