1959) MD (Preventive and Social Medicine) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, in 1963, and L.L.B. (Special) from Karnataka University, Dharwar, Karnataka, in 1976.

For more than four decades, the author had been teaching Preventive and Social Medicines, now re-named Community

Medicine, to medical undergraduate and postgraduate students, nursing, dental and pharmacy students first at Warangal (Andhra Pradesh), and Alleppey (Kerala), then at Be guam Karnataka) and Kamothe (Navi Mumbai) and finally till his retirement at Tumkur(karnataka).
