Land And Aerial Weapon System

The Land War in Irish history was a period of agrarian agitation in rural Ireland in the 1870s, 1880s, and 1890s. The agitation was led by the Irish National Land League and was dedicated to bettering the position of tenant farmers and ultimately to a redistribution of land to tenants from landlords, especially absentee landlords. While there were many violent incidents and some deaths in this campaign, it was not actually a "war", but rather a prolonged period of civil unrest. Land warfare originated in the conflicts of ancient tribes, villages, and city-states. Early combatants on foot engaged in brutal hand-to-hand combat using bare hands and objects within reach, such as stones, to subdue an adversary. To gain some protection by distancing themselves from the dangers of close combat, early fighters used throwing weapons -slings, bows, javelins, and spears. Thus began the cycle of using advancing technology to improve the weapons of war to gain advantage over an enemy. The nature of aerial warfare provides specific opportunities to modulate and control the intensity of aerial attack throughout the range of combat operations. This characteristic differentiates aerial warfare from many other forms of warfare. In modern usage, a missile is a self-propelled precision-guided munition system, as opposed to an unguided self-propelled munition, referred to as a rocket (although these too can also be guided). Missiles have four system components: targeting and/or missile guidance, flight system, engine, and warhead. Missiles come in types adapted for different purposes: surface-to-surface and air-to-surface missiles (ballistic, cruise, anti-ship, anti-tank, etc.), surface-to-air missiles (and anti-ballistic), air-to-air missiles, and anti-satellite weapons. The main objective of this book is to highlight the evolution, importance and current status of this means of transportation. It also aims to promote awareness about this sector, so that it can be utilized in a better way.

Dr. Mahendra Nath, M.A, Ph.D in Political Science is Professor Deptt of Political Science at Babu Rao Mahavidyalaya Haiderpur Kotla He joined the College in 2000 and teaching the subject since then. He has a prolong experience of teaching of twenty two years. He has taught at the students of UG and PG level. He has been pioneer in organizing several seminars and conferences at inter-- college level. He has also been the Coordinator of various College committees.
