He thereafter served as Associate Hospital Administrator of St. John's Medical College Hospital, and from mid 1992 to Jan 2018, he was Senior Consultant and Advisor, Hospital Administration at the Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman. For 6 years, he was additionally Medical Superintendent of the Royal Hospital, the tertiary-care apex referral center of Oman. Since 2014, he has been a visiting faculty at the Goa Institute of Management, where he teaches the course on Managing Hospital Services for the PGP-HCM program. Dr Mario is a recipient of the Government of Goa NRI Community Service Leadership Award, conferred by the Union Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs in March 2008, and Oman's Indian Social Club Goan Wing Excellence Award, conferred by His Excellency The Indian Ambassador to Oman in May 2017.
