His special interests are Surgical Nutrition, Surgical Oncology especially related to Gastroenterology. He is a keen reader of medical literature and keeps himself updated. He is interested in propagating his knowledge to younger surgeons. He has presented many papers both in the National and International conferences and has received many awards. He has received special training in Liver Surgery from Prof Naofumi Nagasue, a renowned Liver Transplant Surgeon of Shimane Medical University, Izumo, Japan. He is a member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, India and a fellow of the International College of Surgeons.
