This book is part of a four-book series designed to provide students with systematic and rigorous guidance on how to understand and respond to texts that they read. Together, the four books cover all the objectives in the reading and comprehension elements of the English Language curriculum for secondary schools. Although the book was originally designed for the Singaporean curriculum, the topics and drills have been found to be helpful to students across different countries.
The book contains approximately 30 passages, with focused comprehension tasks that are preceded by the teaching of key comprehension skills.
