ABOUT THE BOOK
This book Engineering Geology aims to impart comprehensive knowledge of engineering geology to the undergraduate and postgraduate students of civil engineering, architectural engineering, ceramic engineering geology, applied geology and mining geology. The content of the book is designed in the manner to serve as a textbook as well as a reference book for practicing civil engineers, architectural engineers and professional engineering geologists. The book deals with both principles and advance practices of engineering geology.
The subject matter of each chapter of the book is elucidated with the help of diagrams, images, site pictures, maps illustrating different features of structures and topography. All the factual data directly or indirectly related with different aspects of discussions have been incorporated in the form of tables. Through this book an attempt has been made to cover all disciplines of applied geology and the techniques that are helpful in addressing several geological problems related with engineering applications. At the end of the book, references and bibliography section has been included, which will provide readers information about the appropriate book and research paper for further study of any important topics.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Anil Kumar Misra is Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering at ITM University, Gurgaon, Haryana. He obtained his Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Lucknow, Lucknow. His major research interests are theoretical and experimental engineering geology. site reinforcement methods and geosynthetic engineering, building materials, hydrology, remote sensing and GIS. In the field of hydrological research, his interests are aquifer geochemistry, water resource management techniques, design of artificial recharge structures and watershed development and management. He has successfully completed a number of sponsored research projects funded by
the government agencies and private sectors.
He has published over twenty technical papers in international refereed journals and international conferences. He is a member of Indian Science Congress and the Science Advisory Board, USA.
