AUTHOR'S PROFILE
ADEBAYO AKINADE, a Legal and Security Expert holds an LLB (Hons); EL, LLM and MPA degrees with specialisation in Public and Private Security Enforcement. He is a Notary Public and former Head, Legal Services Unit, University of Lagos. He attended the Nigeria Institute of Advanced Legal Studies for several professional courses and training in legal practice. He participated in various seminars, conferences and symposia on subjects related to law, security, safety and management at local and international levels.
His research interest. includes: law enforcement, private, community and environmental security, responses to human crises and hazard; his teaching and academic work focuses also on these areas.
Akinade has been co-editor of the institute's numerous conferences books of proceedings and leadings for the past eighteen years. In addition, he has been author of several practicing books on security, safety and protection sciences.
Barrister Akinade has been a tremendous inspiration to products of the Institute of Security and Security Practitioners in Nigeria. He has received several awards 'in recognition of his services in the security and safety industry. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Security. Currently, Akinade is the Director General of the Institute of Security of Nigeria where he is responsible for the strategic management and operation of policies and activities of the institute.
