This book provides the foundation for the development of skills in designing microprocessor-based system.
The book contains a comprehensive coverage of Intel Microprocessors 8086, 80186, 80286, 80386, 80486 and Pentium, Motorola Microprocessors 68000, 68010, 68020, 68030, 68040, PowerPC and Intel Microcontrollers 8051, 8096.
Floating-point processors have also been taken up.
A number of solved examples, practical problems and short questions-answers have been included in each chapter.
Historical development of microprocessors has been included in Chapter-1 with introduction to dual core processor.
Microcontrollers in Chapter-7 have been given a completely new shape to look like an embedded system approach.

About the Author

Dr. B P Singh, Professor and Head, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Manipal University, Jaipur. He has teaching experience of over 45 years in universities of different regions such as Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College, Gorakhpur, Mody Institute of Technology and Science, Laxhmangarh, Sikar, Indus Institute of Technology and Management, Kanpur and presently in Manipal University, Jaipur from July 2014. He has already authored four books to his credits.


Renu Singh did B.E. from Malviya Regional Engg. College, Jaipur (Rajasthan) in 1992. She served as guest lecturer to many private and government engineering colleges and polytechnics including M.M.M. Engg. College, Gorakhpur and Women's` Polytechnic, Gorakhpur. She is presently working as Product Manager in an instrumentation concern in Mumbai.
