Galium aparine, commonly known as cleavers, clivers or goosegrass, is a herbaceous annual plant native to Europe, Asia, and North America. Despite being considered a weed by many, cleavers have a long history of medicinal use, particularly in traditional European and Native American herbal medicine. Rich in nutrients such as vitamins A, C, and E, cleavers offer various potential health benefits.

Cleavers tea is believed to have diuretic properties, promoting kidney function and supporting the body's natural detoxification processes. It's also traditionally used to support lymphatic health, helping to improve lymphatic drainage and reduce swelling. Additionally, cleavers tea is sometimes used to alleviate skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis when applied topically as a compress or wash.

To make cleavers tea, simply steep 1 tbsp of the herb in a 200ml cup of hot water for 10-15 minutes, allowing the hot water to extract the beneficial compounds from the plant material, then strain and enjoy.
