Gynostemma Pentaphyllum is a perennial deciduous plant with a creeping root. The stems of Gynostemma are thin, climbing, with whitish pubescence in the nodes. Sometimes the base of the stems becomes woody. The leaves are complex with five narrow oval-elliptical or narrow-ovate. The flowers are greenish yellow, small. Gynostemma blooms in August and September.
