XO Extra Old Cognac

Hennessy is the best selling cognac in the world. It is blended from the top four crus ( or growths) of the six delimited regions in cognac, giving it great complexity and ensuring that it is always a drink at it's peak.
Hennessy uses unique distillation methods in which each batch of the cognac is double-distilled to achieve the most flavorful, elegant eau-de-vie ( literally, water of life) as possible. Each eau-de-vie is aged to concentrate the best qualities of cognac. Hennessy's casks come from the world's best coopers for optimal taste and smoothness.
Hennessy has the finest selection of old eaux-de-vie in the world ,therefore Hennessy XO is literally the finest of the finest. The house has been run by eight generations of Hennessys along with seven generations of master distillers from the Fillioux family. This lineage gives the cognac unequaled consistency of style and quality, down through the years since 1765, Hennessy has been associated with excellence and mastery.
Originally created in 1870 by Maurice Hennessy using very old eaux de vie, XO was reserved exclusively for his family and friends. XO is blended from more than 100 eaux-de-vie specially selected from the four premier growing areas. Deep amber in colour indicative of it's age, this is a very developed style that has a soft, round mouthfeel and fantastic complexity. The nose displays spicy aromas of oak and leather with the sweeter essences of flowers and ripe fruit. This blend is nurtured in cellars which contain the worlds largest reserves of old cognac.
