Should be called Reciever not Receiver Transmitter

I bought this when I saw "Transmitter" in the name thinking it could be plugged to the output of a music source and have it transmit to say a bluetooth speaker. I was sorely disappointed. The device does not have that ( transmit ) capability. Almost returned it when I plugged in a normal 3.5 mm earpiece and couldn't hear anything. I had to use the supplied 3.5mm adapter AND a male to female 3.5mm adapter , then plug in the earpiece to that.
