Description;Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol) inhaler is available for administration as: Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol) 25mcg / 125mcg Metered Dose Pressurized Inhalation Suspension.Each actuation contains: Salmeterol (asxinafoate), Ph. Eur. 25mcg, Flutti propionate, Ph. Eur. 125mcg. Also contains CFC-Free propellant, HFA. Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol) 25mcg / 250mcg Metered Dose Pressurized Inhalation Suspension.
Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol) 25mcg / 125mcg is a metered dose pressurized inhalation suspensionconsisting of an Aluminum fitted over a light purple color actuator along with a dark purple color cap. The inhaler also contains the CFC-free propellant HFA. Upon spraying on black sheet white smear will appear. Each can contains at least 120 actuations.
Indications/Uses;Asthma (Reversible Obstructive AirwaysDisease): Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol) is indicated in the regular treatment of asthma (Reversible Obstructive Airways Disease). This may include: Patients on effective maintenance doses of long-acting ẞ agonists and inhaled corticosteroids.Patients who are symptomatic on currentinhaled corticosteroid therapy. Patients on regular bronchodilator therapy who require inhaled corticosteroids. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD): Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol) is indicated in theregular treatment of Chronic ObstructivePulmonary Disease (COPD) includingchronic bronchitis and emphysema.
Dosage/Direction for Use;Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol) inhaler is for inhalation only. Patients should be made aware that Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol) must be used regularly for optimum benefit, even when asymptomatic.Patients should be regularly re-assessedby a doctor, so that the strength of Salmeterol+Flutti propionate (Saltrol) they are receiving remains optimal and is only changed on medical advice. Asthma (Reversible Obstructive AirwaysDisease): The dose should be titrated tothe lowest dose at which effective controlof symptoms is maintained. Where thecontrol of symptoms is maintained withtwice daily Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol), titration to the lowest effective dose could include Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol) given once daily. Patients should be given the strength of Salmeterol Flutti propionate (Saltrol) containing the appropriate Flutti propionate dosage for the severity of their disease.If a patient is inadequately controlled oninhaled corticosteroid therapy alone,substitution with Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol) at a therapeuticallyequivalent corticosteroid dose may resultin an improvement in asthma control. Forpatients whose asthma control isacceptable on inhaled corticosteroidtherapy alone, substitution with Salmeterol+ Flutti propionate (Saltrol) may permit a reduction in corticosteroid dose while maintaining as a control.
Adults and adolesce 2 years and older:Two inhalations of 25mcg salmeterol and 125mcg Flutti propionate twice daily.or Two inhalations of 25mcg salmeteroland 250mcg Flutti propionate twicedaily.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease(COPD): For adult patients therecommended dose is two inhalation 25mcg / 125mcg to 25mcg / 250mcg Salmeterol + Flutti propionate (Saltrol) twice daily.
Special population: There is no need to adjust the dose in elderly patients or in those with renal or hepatic impairment.
