This is the Plastic Connector "Coupling" that resides between the electric motor and the transmission drive gear housing.
It is designed to be a safety shear pin but commonly breaks mainly due to age.
It is designed to snap if there is too much resistance on the seat track instead of cracking the plastic transmission housing or putting to much strain on the electric motor to a point where it overheats or blows a fuse.
Chances are if you hear the motor running when you activate the switch and the seat does not move that this coupling has failed.
Molded in Clear / White Plastic with a Stronger Resin but still snap in the event of a problem. It is a much better quality plastic with a higher resin base.
