How it works:

The splitter module connects to the output of a single motor driver and branches out to two separate connectors for the motors. 

  • Current Distribution: The current from the driver is split between the two motors. For this to work correctly, both stepper motors must be identical so the current is divided evenly between them.
  • Synchronized Movement: The two parallel motors will perform the exact same movements (same number of steps and in the same direction) because they are receiving identical signals from the single driver.
  • Power Considerations: You must make sure that the combined current draw of both motors does not exceed the maximum output current of your motor driver. If the current is too low for the motors, it can cause them to skip steps and fail to move correctly.
