Product Description
The Metal Oxide Surge Arrester (12 kV class)—also known as a zinc oxide lightning arrester—is a critical protective device used in electrical power systems to prevent damage caused by transient overvoltages. These overvoltages typically result from lightning strikes, switching operations, or system disturbances.

This surge arrester uses high-performance zinc oxide varistors (MOVs) that exhibit very high resistance under normal operating voltages. When a surge occurs, the resistance drops instantaneously, allowing excess energy to be safely diverted to ground. Once the surge passes, the arrester automatically returns to its high-resistance state, ensuring continuous protection without interrupting normal system operation.

The arrester is enclosed in a polymer (silicone rubber) housing, designed to provide excellent insulation, mechanical strength, and long-term resistance to harsh environmental conditions such as moisture, UV exposure, dust, and pollution.
