They're basic speed ropes with some pluses.

The handles felt a bit skinny at first (especially when compared to the weighted ropes I have), but they are nonetheless comfortable enough. For the price its pretty fair (I've never bought any crazily priced ropes though). I've used mine quite a bit (indoors only), it feels sturdy enough and has sustained no visible damage. It would hurt if it slaps against your skin, but overtime you'd either get used to it or get better at skipping. Mine came with a black rope and a red rope, adjusting the length is pretty straight forward too. It's also got a pouch which makes transportation and storage very easy.
