Ayo is a popular strategy board game that originated in West Africa and is engaging and addictive! The objective is to win all the houses (holes) on the board.....It is a game of two. This African Ayo game is one of our traditional Africa games with Ayo being played by youngsters across Africa,It is played with 48 pellets, the Pellets being distributed among 12 arcic holes. Making it 4 Pellets per hole.

Reflecting traditional African values, players of "Opon Ayo" encourage participation by onlookers, making it perhaps the most social two-player abstract. In recreational play, it is normal for spectators to discuss the game in progress and to advise the players. Games may provide a focus for entertainment and meeting others. The game, or variations of it, also had an important role in teaching  to African children.

The game starts with 4 seeds in each hole.The object of the game is to capture more seeds than one's opponent. Since the game has only 48 seeds, capturing 25 is sufficient to win the game. Since there is an even number of seeds, it is possible for the game to end in a draw, where each player has captured 24.
