Boiling ring

A boiling ring (also called a water heater) is an electrical appliance built for boiling water. It is usually made of heat-conductive metal and plastic with the heating element forming a large ring at the base. The heating element is dipped in a container of water before the appliance is plugged into a power source. The appliance can come in different sizes and forms depending on the model and manufacturer.
