Product details

guitar machine head (also known as a tuning peg, tuner, or tuning key) is the mechanical component located on a guitar's headstock used to adjust string tension and alter pitch. It consists of a tuning button, a worm gear mechanism, and a post where the string is wrapped.

Specifications

Key Features

Sealed (Die-Cast) Tuners: The inner gears are permanently enclosed in a housing packed with lubricant. They are highly durable, low-maintenance, and the most common option on modern guitars. [1, 2]
Open-Gear Tuners: The gears are fully exposed, offering a classic aesthetic. They are typically found on vintage electrics, acoustic guitars, and classical nylon-string guitars. [1]
Locking Tuners: These include an internal clamp or thumb-screw mechanism that locks the string tight inside the post. This eliminates the need for multiple manual wraps around the post, making string changes incredibly fast and drastically improving tuning stability, especially on guitars with tremolo arms
