This PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) Starter Relay is a high-quality, solid-state electronic component designed to assist in the startup of refrigerator and freezer compressors. It is a universal replacement part compatible with a wide range of modern cooling appliances, particularly those utilizing R600a and R134a refrigerants.
Core Functionality
The relay provides the necessary high-torque electrical surge to the compressor's start winding. Once the motor reaches its operating speed, the internal ceramic PTC thermistor heats up, increasing resistance to effectively "cut out" the start circuit. This process ensures the motor runs efficiently on the main winding and protects it from electrical damage.
