Introduction to CPU:

the new 14nm SKYlake proceor will adopt the LGA 1151 interface, that is, 1151 contacts on the back of the proceor. Broadwell.Haswell is the LGA 1150 interface compared to the previous broadwell. Haswell is the Ivy Bridge, and Svandy Bvridge is the LGA1155 interface.

Introduction to the tester:

The lamp tester with 1151 is used to test the opening and short circuit of the bus signal between the CPU seat of the main board and the north bridge. It is a neceary tool to repair and debug the computer motherboard by replacing the traditional manual measurement method with a multimeter by using the method of luminous tube instruction to prevent CPU damage during maintenance or debuing.

Usage:

1, 1151 tester in the CPU slot and pre down the CPU cover (note the mainboard don't electricity), with 2032 3 v battery row s on the tester, test all DMI signal lamp will light up, these signals connected to the northbridge sets, such as the light is not bright, then this signals have a short circuit fault, open can shake CPU compreive bar, using a multimeter to further determine the point of failure.

2. When the above steps are normal, install the CPU load with the same steps, start up the main board, and test various voltage and clock signals with oscilloscope.

Notes:

1. 1151 tester is tested without the main board turning on. When using the 1151 tester, the battery is leaning against the drain pin, the test lamp is not on, it may be the positive and negative terminals connected with the reverse. Please select the positive and negative terminals of the battery.

2. Ar several times of use, the light of the tester becomes dim, because the battery voltage of the test lamp is not enough, please replace the battery by yourself.

3. Various signals of the tester, such as the power supply voltage of CPU, may display different signals due to the different motherboard design of various manufacturers and the different set. Please use the same motherboard to compare and judge the failure.
