Menstruation seems like a nightmare which comes back every month, for 30-35 years and women try to attenuate their pain and discomfort by seeking new and better ways to deal with it.To do so, they have their own choices for menstrual management. The materials used to catch blood flow includes cloth pads, tampons, menstrual cups, and sanitary pads etc.However, in Pakistan, most of the women are not guided and educated properly about menstrual management. According to Study on Menstrual Hygiene Management in Union Council Muzaffarabad/Azad Kashmir, 2010 UNICEF, seventy percent of the responses were recorded by the women who used cloth instead of sanitary pads and the reasons for such consequences includes unavailability of protective materials, unwillingness of teachers to guide regarding menstrual hygiene,lack of designated washrooms with water & disposal facilities in schools, considering menstruation as a taboo and the lack of awareness. However using cloth during your periods can easily bring you a lot of worries together with the commonly assumed benefits.
