brittle glass lid

While screwing the lid to the lid handle, the glass shattered in my hands in mid air. I hadn't even tightened it fully when it shattered. The metal ring on the lid was a very thin, very light weight aluminum material. I've used the wok once and it works okay with even heat distribution. I'll manage with no lid, because the lid was extremely flimsy and poor in quality.
