It developed fault easily

After just one week of using it, the fan now refuses to on if you start from the first gear but will only make a noise without rotating. It's only when you turn the switch to the last gear that it'll rotate then you return it to gear one. This kind of issue shouldn't have happened to a fan I used for only two days in one week that I've acquired it.
