I wish there was a lot more steam

I bought this product specifically because my hair is low porosity 4c hair and I felt that the steam would reduce heat damage to my hair, but it's not steaming as much as I would have wanted it to, so it is almost like a normal hair straightener. I'm not going to return the product as it's not all bad and still does what I bought it for.
