I've been using it for 2 weeks and I noticed a difference between this and the one I was using before. The last cord made my mac slow whenever it is plugged in - being charged- this means my mnac would be noticeably faster when the mac is not being charged. This is what led to the purchase of this charging cable and I have noticed a considerable increase in the speed and now I can multitask better while at work. So I guess it is actually genuine.
