The material is light weight. Both shorts and shirt are of the same light weight. Its doesn't feel like hard-wearing fabric and the colour ran a little during the first wash. After, that, it seems to be ok. Finally it runs small. I suggest you take a size or even two sizes above the age stated, depending on how big or tall the child is. I dont think I will be getting any more of this brand though.
