The cleanser is hydrating as it's named...but wouldn't wash away your make-up off coz it doesn't foam,it's Creamy thus, I do my first cleansing with my foaming cleanser to wash of products on face then I do a second cleansing with this CeraVe to restore/lock in moisture in my skin for a healthy plumb looking skin.
