What is the difference between sweet basil and holy basil essential oil?

• Sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum) smells fresh, green, and balsamic.  Its uplifting scent is high in linalool and eugenol.
• Holy basil (O. sanctum) has a sweet, spicy scent with a clove-like note.  It is a sacred herb, with an aroma that can be used to purify the air and open breathing, especially during meditation.  Key constituents are eugenol and 1,8-cineole.
