What is Avamys?
Avamys is a man-made type of corticosteroid which we naturally have in our body. The immune system causes inflammation when it detects something in the body which it believes to be a threat. Sometimes, the immune system is wrong when detecting threats and can cause severe threats and dangerous symptoms which can badly affect your immune system. Corticosteroids are used to reduce the swelling and inflammation in your body by preventing the chemicals that cause inflammation from being released.
How effective is Avamys?Avamys Nasal Spray can relieve the symptoms of rhinitis and allergies effectively. Avamys is most effective when you start the treatment before being exposed to the allergens that cause you to suffer, for example, you should start to use the medicine before the pollen season begins to prevent the symptoms and keep them under control. Avamys can begin to take effect within 8-24 hours, but it can take a few days for you to notice the full effects.
How to use Avamys?Before you use Avamys nasal spray, it is important to shake the medication so that it becomes liquid. Adults over the age of 12 should spray the medication twice into each nostril once a day. If you are under the age of 12 but over 6 years old, you should apply one spray of the medication into each nostril once a day.When using Avamys nasal spray, it is important to read the leaflet and directions that come with it to ensure that you are using the medication properly and safely.
Side effects of Avamys:As with all medications, there could be a risk of side effects with Avamys, however, not everyone who uses the spray will suffer from side effects. Some side effects are more common than others, but even the most common side effects only occur in 1 in 10 people, with the rare side effects occurring in around 1 in 10,000 people. If you do experience any side effects which cause concern then you should stop taking the medicine immediately and consult your GP.
