It filters ambient air before it enters the engine combustion chambers, protecting internal components like turbocharger compressor wheels, cylinder liners, and piston rings from abrasive dust and premature wear. High-capacity cylindrical or panel-type pleated paper filter media encased in robust end caps and protective outer mesh designed to trap airborne dust, soot, and particulate debris.
