Description

With age comes a reduced ability to produce hydrochloric acid (abbreviated as HCL). A major component of gastric acid, HCL helps us to efficiently absorb nutrients from food. 

HCL features the powerful ingredient betaine hydrochloride, which assists the body’s natural stomach acids in the digestion and absorption of nutrients, especially protein, vitamin B12, calcium, iron and other minerals.

Incomplete protein metabolism can imbalance intestinal flora. HCL is necessary for the complete digestion of proteins and cooked foods. Taking HCL can promote absorption of essential nutrients, especially protein and minerals.† 

Low stomach acid, also known as hypochlorhydria, is much more common than people realize. Common signs of low stomach acid are bloating, gas, burping, diarrhea, hair loss, heartburn, parasites, and intestinal infections. This means the food is only being partially broken down, which releases gas as the food ferments. With adequate stomach acid, gases do not develop and the food will move quickly out of the stomach to undergo proper nutrient assimilation.

The foods we eat are also a common problem, as most grains and other rich foods absorb many of the limited gastric juices the stomach has available. Supplementing with HCL during meals is the most efficient way we have found to solve this problem. 

We recommend supporting optimal digestive health by taking our Enzyme supplement before your meal, and taking HCL after your meal. Also great combined with Chlorella tablets. 

Usage

Start with 1 capsule taken with a meal. Increase by one capsule at each subsequent meal until a warming sensation is felt, then back down by one capsule—that is your optimal dosage. If you have had very low stomach acid for some time, you may experience slight discomfort or nausea as the lower pH may be breaking down old food residues and/or bacteria in the stomach.
