Product details
The Mpow Air SE Gaming Headset (also labeled as model BH439A or the Mpow Air II) is a budget-friendly, wired over-ear gaming headset. Known for its high price-to-performance value, it delivers solid multi-platform audio for gamers looking to save money.
Specifications
Key Features
- Audio Drivers: Equipped with 50mm neodymium speaker drivers that offer virtual 3D surround sound and boosted bass response.
- Microphone: Features a detachable, flexible noise-canceling boom mic with a small foam windscreen filter to isolate ambient room noise during voice chats.
- Build & Comfort: Constructed with soft memory foam ear cups, a padded adjustable headband, and durable steel/aluminum sliders.
- Controls: Includes an integrated 7.2-foot (2.2m) nylon-braided cable with an inline audio control box for rapid mic muting and volume adjustments.
- Universal Compatibility: Connects natively via a 3.5mm audio jack to PC, Mac, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices. (Note: PC connections utilize an included Y-splitter cable).
Performance & Considerations
- The Good: Reviewers highly praise its overall comfort for long sessions (even for glasses-wearers) and its punchy sound profile. The detachable microphone also allows it to easily double as regular everyday headphones.
- The Bad: The audio uses standard stereo-virtual surround rather than discrete multi-channel 7.1 audio. As a result, critical audio cues (like accurate footstep directional tracking in competitive shooters like Valorant or CS:GO) can occasionally sound a bit vague. Additionally, some users find the microphone plug quite stiff and difficult to physically pull out.
