 How to Pair the Keyboard

To connect the Model 1742 to your computer, follow these steps outlined by Micro_soft Support:

1. Turn on the keyboard by making sure fresh AAA batteries are inserted properly.                
2. Activate pairing mode: Press and hold the pairing button on the bottom (or side) of the keyboard for about 3 to 5 seconds until the LED light begins to flash.
3. Connect on your PC: A notification should pop up on your Windows desktop asking to pair.                      
4. Manual Alternative: If you don't see the pop-up, navigate to Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add a device > Bluetooth, and select the Micro_soft Surface Keyboard from the list. Enter the on-screen PIN using the keyboard if prompted, and press Enter.

⚠️ Key Limitations

• No Backlighting: The keys are not backlit, which may make typing in dark rooms difficult.
• No Pre-Boot/BIOS Utility: Because it requires active Bluetooth drivers within the operating system, you cannot use this keyboard to navigate your computer's BIOS menu before Windows boots up
